Yair Dalal

Yair Dalal was born in Israel in 1955 into an Iraqi Jewish family. He is a virtuoso on both the oud and violin, and has devoted much of his musical life to projects promoting peace between Jews and Arabs. He currently lives either in Tel Aviv or a kibbutz in the Arava desert. Yair Dalal has a very detailed and informative website.

Samar

A great album featuring both oud taqasim and traditional music or compositions with vocals and percussion. The Iraqi Jewish composer Zallach al-Kuweiti is featured and there is also an oud duet with Youssef Yaakov, who was a friend of Jamil Bashir.
