Maqam Farahfaza

 
A Nawa Athar pentachord on C (rast) is also used in the descending part of the scale:
 

 
The sayr of Maqam Farahfaza is as follows. First focus on the upper Ajam tetrachord and trichord, starting with the note G (nawa), then move up to the Kurd tetrachord. Next, move down through the descending scale, touching on F sharp (qarar hijaz) before finishing on the tonic G (yakah).
