Khamis el-Fino
Khamis el-Fino was born in El-Rami, Alexandria, Egypt, and is a graduate of the Cairo Conservatory. He has taught at the Conservatories in Cairo and Alexandria, and his compositions have been performed on radio throughout the world. His songs have been commissioned by vocal artists in the Middle East.

Music for the Classical Oud

This is a recording of a concert given by the Egyptian oud virtuoso at Asia House in 1963 for the Society of Asian Music. It was originally issued as an LP. The CD is recorded from the master tapes and is only available from Smithsonian Folkways. Well worth the effort!
