Wisam Gibran

Wisam Gibran was born in Nazareth in 1970 and began to play the violin and piano from an early age, followed by oud at the age of sixteen. He went on to study at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, followed by the "Hanns Eisler" School of Music in Berlin, and has been performing on oud and violin in various countries around the world since 1995.

This is the debut recording from Wisam Gibran, subtitled "Compositions for Oud Solo 1996-1998", and seems to be strongly influenced by Naseer Shamma's Iraqi style of oud playing.
