The Oud

Joseph Tawadros

Joseph Tawadros was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1983 and moved to Australia three years later. Several members of his family were well known musicians in Egypt, so it was only natural that Joseph would continue the tradition. His oud studies began with a family friend, Mohamed Youssef, and he went on to complete a Batchelor of Music Degree at the University of New South Wales. Joseph is now resident in Sydney and regularly performs throughout Australia. He has also performed in Europe, the Middle East and elsewhere, both as a solo artist and with other instrumentalists.
