Turkish Names of Notes

The following table gives the Turkish names for the 53 notes created by dividing the octave into commas. Some of these notes occur far more often in practice than others. You should bear in mind the peculiarities of the oud and Turkish notation, so that Rast is written as the G above middle C, it is actually played as the D below middle C. You may find it interesting to compare the similarities between the Turkish and Arabic names.
